The Montreal Juniors were back at it against the Gatineau Olympiques
in a back to back pre-season stint that saw the Juniors win 3-2 Friday
night, but Gatineau answering in kind with a 5-2 victory on Saturday.
With only a few cuts remaining before the Juniors announce their final
roster, every remaining pre-season game is vital for the players
suiting up.

The Montreal Juniors were in Pointe-Claire last night
where they played their 3rd pre-season game of the season against the
Gatineau Olympiques. With all three Montreal goaltenders seeing some
action and Guillaume Asselin potting two goals in the game, the Juniors
won the game 3-2 despite a third period that saw them lose their 3-0
lead due to penalty trouble.

The Montreal Juniors announced today that they have traded 20 year
old forward Samuel Grenache, from Windsor Qc, to the Lewiston MAINEiacs
in return of a 3rd round pick in the 2011 QMJHL Entry Draft.
The Juniors also announced their next set of cuts after their second
pre-season game that took place last Sunday where the Juniors won 4-3
against the Cataractes in Shawinigan.

The pre-season game between the Montreal Juniors and the Shawinigan Cataractes came to an abrupt end this Sunday afternoon when Juniors defenseman Jonathan Narbonne suffered a serious head injury incurred during an on-ice scuffle.

While both veteran goaltenders Jake Allen and Jean-François Bérubé were joined by most other vets in the stands, the rest of the Montreal Juniors squad faced off against a similar scenario with the Shawinigan Cataractes. Chris Thorne, Samuel Grenache and Vincent Bourgeois were the only veterans dressed for this game and were surrounded by young hopefuls, trying to crack the lineup.
Xavier Ouellet, the Juniors 1st round pick, who joined the Juniors after a span where he was considering not playing in the "Q" at all, was held to 1 shot during the game. These same two teams will do it all over again this Sunday in Shawinigan as the Juniors will play 4 more pre-season games, before which they are expected to announce the final 2009-10 roster.

The Montreal Juniors got their sophomore season rolling this past week as their pre-season training camps began in the Montreal area. Rookie camp took place on the 17th and 18th while the veterans took to the ice on the 19th and 20th with all players looking to crack the final roster for the 2009-10 season.
